Membership Application

Active Duty Member – Currently assigned Marines or Sailors serving with the 2d Reconnaissance Battalion.

Regular Member – Formerly assigned Active Duty, Retired or honorably discharged Marines and Sailors, having served with the 2d Reconnaissance Battalion.

Charter Member – Active Duty, Retired and honorably discharged former 2d Reconnaissance Battalion Marines and Sailors who were present at a reunion and have actively participated in the development and creation of the Association before January 1, 2006.

Associate Member – Persons having an affiliation with a registered Active Duty, Regular, or Chartered member of the 2d Reconnaissance Battalion Association. An Associate membership shall be limited to, but no more than 25% of the combined regular and charter membership.  An Associate Member may not hold any elected office.

Honorary Member – Honorary membership may be granted to any parent, spouse, child or sibling of a person, alive or deceased. Noteworthy persons may also be nominated to the Association by any association member. A serving member of the 2d Reconnaissance Battalion cannot be an honorary member.

Membership Approval Process

Upon submission of an application, the application is received by the Membership Chairman and is reviewed, then processed. The processing and approval notification is faster via online submission, but in all cases is dependent upon the completeness of the information provided.

Membership Dues

Active Duty personnel (currently assigned to 2D Reconnaissance Battalion) do not accrue annual dues. Regular, Charter, and Associate members are assessed Annual Dues of $30. Life Membership is offered at $300 to current members, at any time, or to new members upon membership approval.

Mail Application (Membership request process slower) - The alternative to submitting an online application, is to download and complete a hard copy application and then mail the application with supporting documentation. If the mail method is preferred, then follow the instructions below

     4. Complete the application – please write legibly
     5. Send the application and supporting documentation via Email or Regular Mail - follow the instructions on the form. If you are Non-Active Duty, and if approved, you will be provided instructions for how to pay dues.
